Why repurposed leather?

I am passionate about sustainability and ethical production practices. That's why I use thrifted leather or remnants that would otherwise go to waste. I want to encourage other makers to reduce our impact on the environment and avoid contributing to the negative effects of the leather industry.

How do I care for my leather?

Subtle markings, wrinkles and varying shades are completely natural and add character!

To clean leather, gently wipe with a damp cloth. Use of conditioning balm (I like Smith’s Leather Balm, a small family-owned business) can restore leather that feels dry over time. Keep in mind that it is important to test a small area first! It is best to take stains to a professional for treatment.

Straps are raw-cut and ought to be treated like raw denim at first. Avoid getting wet.

Do you fix leather items made by other artists/brands?

Unfortunately I no longer offer this service.

How long do Inverse products last?

I carefully choose, clean and sew each piece of leather in the shop. I stand by the quality of my work and have yet to have an issue since beginning in 2017. That said, I know things happen and I am happy to offer free seam repair for the life of your product. I source the best zippers and hardware available to me and thus recommend reaching out to your local tailor if you find an issue with those.
